Abstract

575,043. Reinforced concrete, MATSSON, K. Feb. 22, 1944, No. 3281. [Class 20 (iv)] In a device for the fitting of reinforcing rods in concrete in which the upper rods are supported by fitting irons which in turn rest on supports, the supports are provided with means for locating the fitting irons at any of a number of different predetermined levels. As shown, a reinforcing rod 10 rests on a fitting iron 8 which is held in a support comprising two lugs 1 joined by a semi resilient part 5 and having carriers 6 with a series of recesses 7 which may be segments of circles or triangular. The legs 1 are secured to the mould by nails 4 driven obliquely outwards from the support which causes the carriers 6 to grip the fitting iron. The fitting iron may have one enlarged edge only and the top surface may be toothed to locate the reinforcing iron more securely.
