Abstract

573,836. Garden sprayers. PEARCH, L. C. March 1, 1944, No. 3839. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Groups II and XXVIII] A liquid mixture is agitated in a container a, Fig. 1, by withdrawing some of the liquid by a pump and circulating it through a pipe g to an injector at the base of the container. The injector comprises a body b, Fig. 2, having apertures c through which liquid from the container is induced into a chamber d by a vertical jet of liquid from an orifice e. Liquid is delivered under pressure to a disc l, containing the orifice e, through radial ports i in a bush n. The liquid induced into the chamber d, together with the jet from the orifice e, flow through an outlet pipe j of larger diameter than that of the pipe g. A concave baffle disc k is slidably mounted on the pipe g, and distributes the outflow from the pipe j. The apparatus may be used in a garden sprayer, when one pump is used for both spraying and mixing, and the disc l may be interchangeable with a nozzle disc of the spray. The bush n, which supports the disc l and a rubber gasket m, is detachable to facilitate replacement of the disc l.
