Abstract
572,885. Water-gas plant. PERCIVAL, G. April 21, 1941, No. 5102. [Class 55 (i)] To prevent the ignition of the blow gases passing the stack, the temperature of the stack brickwork and of the upper surface of the fuel bed and generator is reduced by the admission of down-run steam through the upper part of the stack. The supply of steam to the stack may be maintained during the whole period of operation of the plant. The steam supply pipe 5 connects by a pipe 6 and valve 7 with the up- and down-run steam pipes 8, 9, the latter being blanked off at 10, and the down-run steam supplied by a branch pipe 11 to the stack 3 just below the damper 4.
