571,923. Surgical trusses. WALES, G: H. Oct. 12, 1943, No. 16700. [Class 81 (ii)] A truss comprises an unitary spring band 10, e.g., malleable steel, having one or both of its ends 11 turned inwardly and downwardly at an obtuse angle, e.g., 135 degrees, and slotted longitudinally to receive pads 13 attached adjustably along the slots 12. In use the torsional flexing of the ends provide upward as well as inward pressure. The ends may be linked by an extensible strap, with holes engaging studs on the pads. In the free state the truss is preferably so shaped that its ends cross over each other.
