Abstract

571,074. Pumps for hydraulic jacks. VENNER, D: J. V. March 1, 1944, No. 3806. [Class 102 (i)] In a hydraulic jack in which oil is pumped into the ram cylinder by means of a pump plunger which is reciprocated by a rocking shaft, teeth 6 on the pump plunger 5 are engaged by a pinion or toothed sector 10 on the rocking shaft 7. The teeth 10 may be formed on a collar 9 and pass through an opening in the pump cylinder 1. The latter may be cast on the side of a boss 4 receiving one end of the shaft 7, the reduced other end of which is received in a bearing in the oil well 3 of the jack.
