569,762. Manhole covers and frames. HARTLEY, C. J., and PEPPER, J. B. Sept. 15. 1943, No. 15100. [Class 107] A manhole is provided with an approximately diamondshaped frame 1 with flattened corners 2, 3, and with two triangular covers 4 hinged to adjacent sides 1a, 1b, of the frame lying on the same side of its major axis; the hinges and their supports may be as in Specifications 390,806, 474,250 and 535,621. The minor axis of the frame may be spanned by a hinged cross-member 9 with ledges normally just clear of the covers, the latter being supported at their corners so that no rocking occurs. The cross-member and covers are removable.
