569,758. Invalids' beds. HOSKINS & SEWELL, Ltd., and HOSKINS, H. R. Sept. 14, 1943, No. 15064. [Class 52 (ii)] A hospital bedstead having a leg support consisting of a pair of hingedly connected parts which can be arranged to occupy the same horizontal plane or adjusted to relatively inclined positions, the foot-end part having a support or pair of supports, each support comprising a rod pivotally connected to the foot-end part (or the bedstead frame) and passing through a guide pivotally mounted on the bedstead frame or (on the footend part) means being provided on the guide for adjustably securing the rod and guide together so that the foot-end part may be held in any desired elevated position. The bed comprises a frame a, a<1>, a head end part bl pivotally and slidably connected to the side frame members a<1> at c and operated by a screw d, nut e and links f and a leg support comprising parts b<2>, b<3>. The middle part b2 is pivoted to the frame at h and is operated by screw i nut j and links k while the foot-end part b3 is provided with a roller n adapted to roll on the side frames a<1> when desired and also with a rod or rods o pivoted thereto and adapted to slide in a guide p when it is desired to elevate the foot-end part, locking means q being provided.
