Abstract
568,585. Safety razors. HEIDE, H. C. (Gillette Safety Razor Co.). Aug. 26, 1943, No. 13960. [Class 30] A safety razor blade is provided on its underside with a pair of outwardly divergent resilient wings 15 which support the blade in the holder and act as fulcra for the transverse arching of the blade. The edges of the wings engage undercut abutments 14 in the guard 31 and the wings, which may be made of sheet steel, bronze, or synthetic plastic, may be secured to the blade by flanging the inner edges 17 over the edges of the medial slot or slots in the blade, or, if of metal, by spot welding to the blade.
