567,472. Centrifugal pumps. PULSOMETER ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and PRICE, A. V. Aug. 12, 1943, No. 13046. [Class 110(i)] A centrifugal pump for liquids containing solids comprises a conical impeller C, C<1> coacting with one or more adjustable fixed knives E arranged so that the plane of each knife includes or is parallel with the centre line of the impeller. After passing the first stage, the liquid may be acted on by a second impeller D coacting with knives G similarly arranged. Each knife E may be of such length that it is in continuous contact with at least two impeller blades. The blades D may be cut away to form guides for the partly-cut solids from the first stage..
