Abstract
565,143. Delivering measured quantities. FORGROVE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., RUSSELL, A., PARKER, M., and HARRIS, R. A. May 5, 1943, No. 7098. [Class 106 (v)] [Also in Groups V and XVII] In a wrapping machine for plastic material, e.g. butter, wherein the plastic material is fed into a rectangularsection die chamber 13 by a worm 10, the die plunger 14 terminates its upward stroke with its top surface level with the undersurface of the top cover 15 which meanwhile has been moved out of the path of the plunger as shown. The plunger remains in this position until the top cover has again been moved over the plunger, a flange 26 on the leading edge of the top cover causing the " print " of plastic material 28 to slide off the die plunger on to a lifting plunger 27 by which it is subsequently raised into the jaws 29 of a wrapping machine, as described in Specification 565,144, [Group XVII]. The bottom position of the die plunger is adjustable by the mechanism described in Specification 564,956, [Group XXIV]
