Abstract
564,932. Air cleaners. YOKES, C. G. April 15, 1943, No. 6062. [Class 8 (ii)] The intake air of engines is cleaned and filtered by rapid passage through a duct 2 near a filter screen 6, the air passing through openings between louvres 3, with a sharp backward turn, through the screen to the intake. The heavier dust particles are carried along the duct, the further end of which may be narrowed and fitted with an engine exhaust inlet pipe 5 acting as an ejector nozzle. A fan 1 may blow the air into the duct. The louvres may be curved to reduce eddying.
