[Class 60] A lens holder for use in grinding &c. comprises a head with a recessed face in which segmental work-engaging members are accommodated, having flanges which embrace the perimeter of the lens, one or more of the members being radially adjustable. The head 1 is furnished with an adjustable, central plug 4 into'which is fitted the customary spindle, and the segmental members comprise a fixed member 6 extending approximately 180 degrees and two adjustable members 7, 8 extending approximately 90 degrees, the latter being held by screws 11 passing loosely through holes in the head. Adjustment is effected by radial grub screws 14.
