Abstract

562,999. Upholstery springs. HUCKER, M. March 23, 1943, No. 4709. [Class 52 (iv)] A helical upholstery spring is formed with one or both end convolutions of square or rectangular form 2, loops 3 being formed at the middle of each side of the square which provide a recess for spring assembly clips 8 such as described in Specification 550,676. The assembly is also strengthened by linking each spring to its neighbours by separate hooked squares 9 of wire with suitably offset sides to fit neatly into the spring corners, Fig. 4. Fig. 5 shows an assembly without spring clips, the connecting squares being fitted into the loops in each square end of the springs.
