Abstract

562,900. Cross-arms for posts. JOSEPH, B. C. Jan. 19, 1943, No. 951. [Class 20 (i)] A cross - arm for a post is formed of channel section from bent sheet metal and the edges 7 of the flanges 6 are bent back on themselves in order to stiffen the arm. The central portion of the arm is curved to fit against the post and a clamp member 4 is used to clamp it to the post. The ends of the arm are filled with wood 11 which may form extensions for supporting insulators. The webs and flanges of the cross-arm may be ribbed transversely or longitudinally in order to stiffen them. The arm may be formed of bent sheet metal sections joined together by welding.
