561,973. Corsets. KISPERT, J. J. Nov. 20, 1942, No. 16466. [Class 141] Each side member 12 of a corset is provided with a strengthening member 14, and behind this are number of openings adapted to receive tapes 16, one end of each of which is fastened to one side of the inner vest portion 19, and extends through this portion to its stiffening member 20, to which it is secured by stitching 21, while the other end of each tape is fastened to a reinforcing member 25 of the outer flap 26 of the corset. The upper portions of the flaps 26 are provided with lacing hooks 28 while the lower portion is provided with eyelets 37 to receive a flexible lacing 38 Eyelets 35 are also provided in the lower portions of the side members 12 to receive laces 36 connecting the side members to the vest portions 19. The side members may be reinforced by sections 40. In a modified construction, the upper tapes 16 are replaced by laces.
