Abstract
560,703. Mixing liquids. LANGLEY, T. W., and TECALEMIT, Ltd. Oct. 16, 1942, No. 14551. [Class 86] An apparatus for mixing liquids comprises a liquid receiver 1, a tube 3 therein through which a liquid can be added to that in the receiver, the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the tube and that of the free space within the receiver being substantially the same as that of the quantity of liquid to be added and the liquid in the receiver, and means whereby the mixture may be delivered when the liquids reach a predetermined level in the receiver. The receptacle has an air-tight closure through which pass the tube 3, a siphon tube 9 and a vent tube 4, the height of the lower end of which is adjustable. The receiver should be filled with the first liquid to a level such that additional liquid equal to the capacity of the tube 3 will cause siphoning. The second liquid is then supplied by the funnel 6 until siphoning occurs. A corrugated wire 14 may be provided to keep the tube 3 clear.
