Abstract

559,018. Inductances. KAPELLA, Ltd., and REASON, R. E. July 28, 1942, No. 10548. [Class 38 (ii)] An adjustable choke comprises a winding G distributed over one or more limbs of a core comprising two parts A, B separated by an air gap, the reluctance of the gap being varied by a magnetic shoe C which is so mounted on the core part A that it can slide into the gap so as to overlap an edge thereof. The shoe may be carried by an L-sectional non-magnetic member D which is clamped in adjusted position by a screw E.
