[Class 70] A light-weight building material which may be formed into sheets, slabs, blocks &c. consists of long-staple vegetable or animal fibres such as coir, jute, wool, hair, bagasse, crushed bamboo &c. which have been impregnated with aluminium sulphate together with or followed by a solution or suspension of sodium carbonate, zinc oxide, or calcium carbonate and which are cemented together by Portland or Roman cement or other calcareous binding agent. A hardening agent such as emery may be incorporated.
