Abstract
557,115. Electric insulators. GARWOOD, G. T. June 13, 1942, No. 8101. [Class 36] An electric line insulator 4 of porcelain, glass, &c. has an integral pin-form conical stem 6 by which it is secured in a socket 8 of the crossarm 7. The stem may have a transverse groove to receive a hardwood cotter or peg. To prevent charring or burning of the cross-arm, a coating or sheathing of metal or other conducting material may be applied to the stem or the socket, and an earth terminal may be connected to this coating or sheathing above or below the cross-arm. Other forms of stem are described in the Provisional Specification.
