Abstract

554,829. Treatment of tungsten &c. BOSCH, F. J. G. VAN DEN, PURSER, D. J. C., SHANNON, D. S. B., and VACUUM-SCIENCE PRODUCTS, Ltd. Nov. 18, 1941, No. 14843. [Class 41] Tungsten and other metals of the periodic group containing it are rendered ductile by anodic treatment in an electrolyte comprising an alkali hydroxide in solution, for instance an aqueous solution of potassium nitrate and sodium or potassium hydroxides, the electrolyte being agitated during the process. The cathode may be of nickel.
