[Class 38 (i)] A binding-post of the type having a clamping- nut 6 captive on a screw pillar 1 has a recess 4a that co-operates with an extension 11 on a sleeve 10 secured to the pillar so that the screw-thread is not exposed when the nut is fully unscrewed. The metal part 4 in which the recess 4a is formed is moulded in an insulating body 6 into the open end of which a disc 9 is pressed after assembly. The sleeve 10 has a non-circular portion fitting into a recess in the base 14.
