552,371. Optical-projection apparatus; lenses. COTTON, A. E. July 27, 1942, No. 9597/41. [Class 97 (i)] The projection lens of an optical lantern comprises two elements fixedly mounted at the ends of a tube and an intermediat element axially slidable in the tube. As shown, a compound intermediate lens 25 is mounted on a slide 30 movable by a rack 31 and pinion 32. The diameter of the lens 25 may be substantially smaller than that of the end lenses.
