[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXV and XL] In a machine for winding the armatures of electric motors and generators with hairpin coils (see Groups XXXV and XL), a press HP, Fig. 20a, cuts and bends the hairpins H and ejects them head downwards down a chute 500 whence they are picked up by projections 73 on a travelling belt D which deposits them astride a chute E passing into a magazine.
