551,398. Adhesive compositions containing gutta percha &c. HOLE, E. S. May 13, 1941, No. 15334/42. Divided out of 551,371. [Class 70] A dry, non-tacky adhesive composition as for adhering a printing plate to a cylinder, and which can be activated by heat and quickly dried comprises intimately amalgamated gutta percha and a dry adhesive substance, e.g. Swedish or Burgundy pitch, colophony, mastic, or dammar, or a resene, wholly or partly soluble in turpentine or alcohol, and a small proportion of a metallic soap, e.g. zinc oleate, or calcium- or magnesium stearate. A small quantity of petroleum jelly may also, be present. The surface upon which the adhesive is to be poured to cool may be wiped with a solution of glycerine and magnesium hydroflluosilicate in water.
