Abstract

550,885. Silos tents. PIGGOTT, C. H. Oct. 7, 1941, No. 1296. [Class 20 (i)] To enable ensilage to be: removed through the top of. a silo while still affording protection against the weather, a flexible tent-like cover is provided with door flaps and a depending skirt portion adapted to surround and embrace the upper portion of. the silo. The cover may be supported by an adjustable pole 11 provided with a foot 12 to rest on the ensilage, or by a pole .fixed to one side of the silo, or between two poles fixed on opposite sides ; the poles may extend downwardly to the floor. The cover 10 is provided with an opening adapted to be. closed by flaps 19 which can be laced together and made waterproof by a sealing flap 21 which covers the joint, and a split skirt portion 16 provided with eyelets to receive a reeving line 18 which binds it to the top of the silo.
