550,720. Capsules. SCHERER, R. P. June 6, 1941, No. 7213. Convention date, June 6, 1940. [Class 81 (i)] A dispensing capsule, formed of gelatine or other flexible plastic material, is provided with an element, not forming part of the capsule body, attached positively or adhesively to the wall of the capsule but not protruding therethrough, which on removal causes puncture of the wall to provide a discharge opening. The opening element may be formed of metal or other material and comprises a handle part 14 and a projecting part 18 which extends into the capusle wall and is attached to it either by adhesive as in the form shown in Fig. 1 or positively as in the forms shown in Figs. 7 and 8 in which the capusle wall is moulded round a contracted part of the projection. The opening element is attached to the capsule by pressing it into contact while in heated condition so that the capsule material is stretched to produce a thinned-out portion 24 readily fractured by the removal of the opening element.
