549,264. Lamps; liquid prisms. SWITCHGEAR & COWANS, Ltd., and MAXWELL, A. V. March 11, 1941, No. 3314. [Class 97 (i)] [Also in Group XI] Lighting means for obtaining increased visibility in fog comprises a hollow 90 degrees prism a filled with a highly refractive liquid, and means, such as a lamp d and reflector e, for projecting a light beam through one face thereof on to its hypotenuse face c, the face c being silvered or otherwise made highly reflective. The prism may have glass or plastic faces and ends of metal or other material, and may be filled with nitrobenzene and sealed. The lamp may be a cadmium electric bulb or a coloured bulb.
