Abstract
548,815. Helmets. CIVIC CO., Ltd., and HAMPTON, R. E. S. Oct. 1, 1941. No. 12699. [Class 63] A protective "steel" helmet lining of the kind in which a fibre-board band 9 functioning as a hat band is secured to the four free ends of two substantially semi-circular fibre-board bands 1 secured together at 2 so as to cross each other at right angles, adjustment is secured by arranging the ends 8, 15 of the band overlap, projecting rivets 13 on the end 8 passing through a slot 14 in the end 15. The ends 3 4, 5, 6 of the bands 1 are secured by rivets 7 to the band 9, the end 3 being firmly secured to the end 8, while the rivets 7 at the ends 4, 5, 6 pass through slots 10, 11, 12 of decreasing length. Shock-absorbing pads 16 of moulded sponge rubber are secured to the band by means of flanged tongues 17 engaging orifices 18. Specification 534,207 is referred to.
