Abstract
548,791. Two-part couplings. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Sept. 19, 1941, No. 12046. Convention date, March 24. [Class 38 (i)] A socket terminal 21 attached to a lead 25 by claws 22, 23 that encircle the bared wire 24 and the insulation respectively, is enclosed in an insulating sleeve 40 the larger part of which surrounds the socket 27 and the smaller part is moulded to the cable end and the claws 22, 23. The sleeve is of thermoplastic material and is applied by compressing the end of a uniform tube into engagement with the claws and cable end. The terminal may be made by stamping out a series of blanks in strip form, bending and shaping them, and then cutting from the strip. U.S.A. Specification 2,169,802 is referred to.
