548,239. Sewing-machines. COOK, J. S. Dec- 3, 1941, No. 15551. Drawings to Specification- [Class 112] The movement of a sewing-machine is obtained by an electric solenoid and a spring-returned armature. The armature is carried by a bar under the workplate which also carries a rack for oscillating a vertical hook shaft and cams for operating a feed bar. The needle-bar is driven from the armature bar by a lever pivoted on the machine head and this lever carries adjustable stops which move a cam-plate actuating- a switch for the make and break of the circuit of the solenoid.
