[Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] The strip of fibrous material used in a selflubricating bearing has an irregular contour on one face, Fig. 5, to conform to the contour of the bearing surface. This latter may consist of a ball-ended stud or an intermediate member 22, Fig. 1, spaced by oil-impregnated material 23 from a cylindrical stud 20. The pre-shaped material 15 fits around member 22 and is retained by the shell 21 having its ends bent around the material. The shell 21 is a press fit within a cylindrical hole in arm 10. In a modification, the spherical surface is formed in the length of the stud. U.S.A. Specifications 1,817,529 and 2,027,560 are referred to.
