Abstract

542,582. Keeping foodstuffs hot. WOOD, D. H., ELLARD, G. P., KING, F., RICKARD, P. E., and AVAMORE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. July 16, 1940, No. 11771. [Class 64 (ii)], A double-walled container 1 with heat insulation in walls and bottom is provided with a heat-insulated cover 3 resting on a shoulder 4. The cover is locked by a bar 8 having downwardlycranked portions 9, which is rotated to engage inclined parts 7a of loops 7. Several food-containing vessels 10 interengage one another and are provided with a carrier so that they may be inserted and removed as a unit. The carrier comprises a square base with corners projecting beyond the vessels 10, jointed to wire side frames 15 having cross bars 16 at the top to which bail handles 17 are pivoted. The container alone may be used for transporting hot liquid foods, in which case the cover fits relatively tightly.
