Abstract

540,607. Overhead lamps. DOWNER, G. V. April 17, 1940, No. 6888. [Class 75 (iv)] An overhead lamp, in which a daylight effect is obtained by the use of a blue colour filter 3 or a blue lamp bulb, is provided with louvres 6, which conceal the filter and the light-source from direct view, except from a position directly below, and the louvres are tinted on one or both sides with colours in which those of the yellowred portion of the spectrum predominate, in order to rectify any excess of bluish light emitted by the filter. The light from the source is deflected laterally by reflectors 5, 7, and downwardly between the louvres by a reflector 2.
