538,505. Indiarubber dispersions. BRITISH RUBBER PRODUCERS' RESEARCH ASSOCIATION, and BLOW, C. M. May 16, 1940, No. 8760. [Class 1 (i)] Positively charged rubber dispersions are obtained by mixing a cationic soap with rubber and dispersing the mixture in an aqueous medium. Compounding ingredients may be mixed in before dispersion or subsequently added in the form of a positively charged dispersion. The cationic soaps consist of a long-chain aliphatic residue attached to an ionizable radical so that the polar end of the long-chain molecule has a positive charge. Examples are cetyl pyridinium bromide, cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, and cetyl dimethyl sulphonium methyl sulphate. Specification 497,793, [Group V], is referred to.
