537,575. Strops. ADDYMAN, E. A. April 8, 1940, No. 6270. [Class 60] A knife-sharpening device comprises a wooden or like base 1 having slots 3 at acute angles to the face of the base to receive the ends of a strip of emery cloth 2, one of the slots 3 being formed by a shoulder 7 and a detachable piece 5 of the handle 4. This piece may be locked in position by a pin 8 of the base entering a hole 9 in the piece 5 or an angled slot 11, Fig. 5. The'other face of the base 1 may carry a leather stri p. The Provisional Specification states that the piece 5 may be held by a spring or other clips.
