Abstract

537,053. Electric battery lamps. GOLDSCHMIDT, P. Jan. 11, 1940, No. 663. [Class 39 (ii)] A battery lamp casing 13 is furnished with a leather flap 14 which when fastened down over the casing by means of a snap-fastener covers the lamp 17 and depresses a spring contact member 6 away from contacting engagement with a contact plate 7 so that the lamp is not lit. The lamp and switch are mounted in an insulating block 4; the contact spring is fixed in a slot 5 and engaged by the short contact of the battery. A plate 11 bent over at the end is engaged by the long contact of the battery and the socket for the lamp is connected to the contact 7 with which when the cover is raised the spring contact 6 is allowed to engage.
