Abstract
536,557. Fluid-blast switches ; - contacts. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 22, 1940, No. 10751. Convention date, June 22; 1939. [Class 38 (v)] The movable contact of a fluid-blast switch having high current-carrying capacity and an efficient but economical blast has a part 18 engaging an aperture in the fixed contact 13, and a ring of conducting arms 19 the ends of which are surrounded by helical springs 20 and engage the outer surface of contact 13, the latter separating first so that the arc drawn at the aperture is subjected to a concentrated blast.
