Abstract
536,103. Supplying auxiliary charges. DIETZ, J. P. M. VAN. Nov. 1, 1939, No. 29190/39 and 9221/40. [Class 7 (ii)] An auxiliary charge is admitted to the induction pipe 4 by allowing air to be drawn in through a container 1 in which are placed for example, creosote, salts or naphthalene in a granular state. Anilinoil, "Ethyl" or paradichlor benzene may also be added. The container is preferably connected by a tube 3 to a tubular member extending across a block 9 inserted between the carburetter and induction pipe flanges, the auxiliary mixture being injected into the centre of the induction passages through apertures formed in the tubular member. The open end of the container may be fitted with a rotatable perforated cap for varying the amount of air drawn in, and an adjustment of the auxiliary mixture admitted may be provided by a screw 19. When the auxiliary material is in liquid form, the container is filled with wool, cotton, steel wool, porous stone &c. impregnated therewith.
