Abstract
534,534. Utilizing waste sulphite liquors. BELLAK, R., and BELLAK, W. Aug. 26, 1939, No. 24618. [Classes 2 (ii) and 15 (ii)] [Also in Groups III and V] A sizing, emulsifying, or wetting' agent is prepared from waste sulphite lye by alkalizing it with soda, quick lime or ammonium carbonate, precipitating any transformable calcium by sodium or ammonium carbonate, filtering, and treating the filtrate with a bleaching agent such as hydrogen peroxide.
