Abstract

534,424. Oil engines. HOCKE, E. Feb. 19, 1940, No. 3152. Convention date, April 1, 1939. [Class 7 (iii)] In a compressionignition engine having a spherical combustion chamber 3 in which a swirling movement of the air charge takes place, a contraction of the combustion chamber is formed by two protuberances 8 symmetrically arranged on the axis of rotation of the charge and terminating in substantially pointed ends which become incandescent. The chamber 3 is connected by a port 4 to the engine cylinder and is fitted in the cylinder cover or partly in the cover and partly in the cylinder block.
