Abstract
534,423. Oil stoves. MANTLE LAMP CO. OF AMERICA. Feb. 19, 1940, No. 3142. Convention date, March 4, 1939. [Class 126] An oil stove 10 has a central chimney located above the burner 36 and formed in two parts 22, 26. The upper part 22 is rigidly secured at its lower end to the stove casing and free to expand upwardly between lugs 27 while the lower part 26 is rigidly secured to the burner and movable with the burner and its oil reservoir 29 when the latter is moved into and out of the stove in the guides 28. The lower end of the upper chimney part 22 engages by means of pins 31, Fig. 9, slots 30b in a ring 30 which rests by means of lugs 30a upon a flange 26c of the lower chimney part 26 so that a space is provided between the ring 30 and lower chimney part 26 for the admission of air to the chimney. The arrangement of the pins 31 and slots 30b is such that when the lower chimney part is moved with the burner and its reservoir the ring tilts by gravity about the pins and allows free movement either into or out of the stove of the lower chimney part 26 and the burner.
