Abstract

534,218. Portable buildings; poultry houses. HOUGHTON, J. E. July 29, 1939, No. 22041. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group I] A portable building particularly for use as a poultry house comprises superposed, open-ended, cell-like units with jointing means between the units, so that each unit can be used independently. The upper unit A comprises a roof 3 and side and end walls 1, and the lower unit B comprises a floor and side and end walls 2, the parts being preformed of wooden frameworks 4 covered by match-boarding 5. The upper framework 8 of the lower unit and the lower framework 7 of the upper unit may abut with the upper boarding overlapping the lower boarding to prevent lateral movement, or alternatively a separate jointing frame 16 may be disposed between the units. The door 13 may be formed in parts in the sides of one or both units and the window frame may be wholly in one unit or may project partly to engage a recess in the edge of the other unit. Apertures through the sides of both units may be provided for the passage of lifting bars and extended feet or joists may be provided on the lower unit.
