Abstract
533,187. Resilient mountings. KELSEY, C. W. Oct. 16, 1939, No. 27948. Convention date, Oct, 20, 1938. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group I] Tool holders 21, 21a, 21b for a rotary tilling tool (see Group I), are mounted on a shaft 19, and each is provided with cutting tools 23 which are adjustable in their sockets by providing two or more bolts 27. Each tool holder is connected to its hub 32 by a rubber ring 30, and the hub is off-set at 33 to right or left to allow for different spacing of the holders on the shaft. The rubber ring allows lateral and circumferential displacement of the tool if an obstacle is encountered in the soil. The rubber ring is concave at the edges 35. In a modification, Fig. 6, the rubber ring may be provided with serrated metal bands 41, 42 co-operating with serrations on the hub 37 and the tool holding ring 36, so that the parts are detachable by lateral movement. The parts are locked together by a split spring 45 in a groove formed in the members 36, 42. The spring 45 may be depressed through openings 46 to an extent sufficient to permit sidewise removal of the ring 36.
