Abstract
530,729. Ticket issuing machines. GARRETT & CO., Ltd., C., and OLIVER, C. L. June 29, 1939, No. 18925. [Class 106 (iii)] In a machine in which a feeding device intermittently traverses the ticket at each delivery, a carriage is guided lengthwise of the ticket slideway and a one-way strip feed member movable with the carriage is moved together with the latter by a cam and cam-follower mechanism. The reciprocating carriage 16 is driven by a projection 18 engaging in a cam groove 13 in the rotating cylinder 11. A spring finger or fingers 20<SP>1</SP> engages with a hole in the ticket strip 15 on the upward stroke but slides over the strip on the return movement. A pivoted plate 41 grips the strip 15 to prevent backward slipping. If no strip is present the end of the plate falls into recess 43 and means are actuated to lock the driving shaft 12. A frame 29 carrying a cutting knife is operated by a cam 27.
