Abstract
530,328. Non-conducting coverings for sound. WERNER GENEST GES. June 9, 1939, No. 16978. Convention date, July 9, 1938. [Class 64 (ii)] In the transition from the sound transmission medium 1 to the sound absorbing medium 3, the transition space is occupied by sound absorbing material 2 arranged as elements having a linear or concave profile, e.g. in the form of cones, pyramids, or projections with walls of exponential form. The materials may comprise slag wool, glass wool, wadding, gas concrete, or foam concrete. A depth of 1m. is exemplified. The insulation may be covered with wire netting. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect 91, the material may take the form of wedges with straight or stepped or concave sides, or a conical spiral. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
