Abstract

528,832. Footballs &c. WILSON, J., and SLAZENGERS, Ltd. May 16, 1939, No. 14568. [Class 132 (ii)] In a laceless inflatable ball, such as a football, wherein a flange or washer attached to the bladder closes the case aperture, the bladder is located in position within the case by loops or other means attached to the case and co-operating with the flange or washer. As shown, the valve 7 carries two spaced flanges or washers 9, 10, the flange 9 having a portion 13 closing the case aperture, and the flange 10 being secured to the bladder. Loop elements or tapes 17 sewn at their ends into the seam of the case pass beneath the flange 9 and retain the bladder in position when deflated. Above the inflation opening of the valve the flange 9 is provided with a starshaped cut through which an inflator is insertible.
