Abstract
528,233. Gas burners. L'AIR LIQUIDE SOC. ANON. POUR L'ETUDE ET L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES G. CLAUDE. May 1, 1939, No. 13005. Convention date, April 3. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] Perforated objects of small size such as gas burner and blowpipe nozzles or tips, flash-back arresters &c. are made by depositing on to a metal surface, metal or alloy adhering to such surface by melting a rod in an arc or flame to give the deposit the desired volume and shape without using a mould, the holes being formed subsequently. A copper &c. tube A, Fig. 1, is bent to fit the outline of the piece to be heated, has metal B deposited to a thickness of 8 to 10 mm., holes C drilled through the metal and tube, and the end D of the tube is closed. A tube E, Fig. 3, for the circulation of cooling liquid may also be attached by added metal. In a modification the tube E may surround the tube A.
