528,156. Motor mountings. THABUR INDUSTRIELLE EN TECHNISCHE HANDELSMAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. April 28, 1939, No. 12794. Convention date, April 30, 1938. [Class 35] The motor unit of a vacuum cleaner is elastically supported at two points within a housing and the distance between the two points is adjustable. The motor and fan unit 1 abuts at one end against a rubber ring 3 and at the other end is supported by a fastening strap 7 threaded at 10 to receive a screw 11 which carries a freelyrotatable cap 12 fitting over a rubber cushion. The ends 8 of the strap 7 engage hooks 9 secured inside the housing so that when the screw 11 is tightened, the strap ends engage the hooks. Alternatively, the strap may have forked ends engaging abutments on the housing, or a bayonettype joint may be used. The adjustment may be provided at the ends of the strap. The strap may have more than two arms or it may be an apertured disc.
