[Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] In an electric water heater, the switch 9 controlling the current supply is operated by a rod 10, so connected to a friction sleeve or band 11 on the spindle 6a of the screw-down watersupply valve 6 as to allow further opening or closing of the valve after the switch has been closed or opened. Screws 11a with springs 11b are provided on the friction band to adjust the friction contact with the spindle. A switch 3 controls the current supply to a heating element 2a additional to the main element 2. An air vessel 13 connected to the water supply pipe maintains the supply to the heater when the pressure in the pipe drops for a short period.
