Abstract

527,363. Piston and stuffing-box packing. BASTOW, F. April 4, 1939, No. 10501. [Classes 122 (i) and 122 (v)] Packing for plungers, pistons &c, particularly such as is in an inaccessible position, comprises a pair of channelled elastic rings 4, 5. arranged with their channels open to each other, and held apart by an interposed member 6 which may be a metal sleeve. The spacing-member may be integral with the rings. The rings may be of indiarubber or a composition, such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark "Gaco."
